2024-25 FW WOMEN SHOW

Maison Valentino Creative Director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, has always considered color a powerful channel of immediate and direct communication – one consistently utilized as a means of recalibrating perception, reappraising form and function. For the Valentino Le Noir Fall/Winter 2024-25 collection, Pierpaolo Piccioli reconsiders Valentino through the lens of black – here representative not of an absence of color, nor an exercise in monochrome or monotone, but rather the discovery of an entire spectrum of shades, infinitely nuanced, within one.

2024SSHC SHOW

The habitat of Haute Couture – a space of expectation and wonder, where dreams become realities through its specific rites and rituals. For Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli, the salon represents both a return and a departure – simultaneously an honouring of tradition and a new proposal, of an Haute Couture innately reflective of contemporaneous values and needs. The Valentino Le Salon Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2024 collection is deeply rooted in modern life, in the today. Yet in this seemingly radical reflection of our world it actually returns to the original intention of Couture, its genesis in realities. True dressing – the timeless essence of Haute Couture.

2024-25FW MEN SHOW

Man, as human. A continual reflection of contemporary masculinities – the meaning of being a man today – the Valentino Le Ciel 20.24 Menswear collection by Pierpaolo Piccioli explores pure color as a tool of communication of ideas and ideals. Color liberated from societal convention, emancipated from expectations – blue, an archetypal marker of masculinity, is re-assessed and reconsidered, its language reconfigured, as is the character of modern men.

VALENTINO L'ÉCOLE COLLECTION The body, representative of freedom; the female body, emblematic of emancipation. The Valentino L’École Spring/Summer 2024 collection by Pierpaolo Piccioli serves to highlight the body, in a celebration of femininity and humanity. A reflection of an ideology, an expression of intimacy and individuality, the result conveys a fundamentally feminist aim - independence of the body from the male gaze or societal expectation, an agency. Comfort in one’s own skin.

2023FWHC SHOW

A place as an idea - a representation, a metaphor. Not the château, but “Un Château” - a locale unanchored to geographies or eras, but expressive of an idea of life, a symbol to be analysed, questioned, then redefined.

2024SS MENS SHOW

A moment to redefine an identity of men, to re-examine a meaning of masculinity, to discover a new, modern perspective. The Valentino the Narratives menswear Spring/Summer 2024 collection by Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli reconsiders their definitions for today - the life of men, the life of their clothes, the reality of masculinity now. Working within traditions allows a questioning of conventions - rules are broken, changes actioned from inside.

2023FW SHOW

VALENTINO BLACK TIE COLLECTION An instruction can become an invitation, a dress code can liberate, limitation can free. Equally, universal symbolism can be open to reinterpretations, redefinition. Archetypes can be re-imagined, and a power in the familiar can come from its rediscovery in a new context. For Fall/Winter 2023, Pierpaolo Piccioli takes black tie at face value, a figure of speech for a collection that builds around pieces drawn from every day. Conjecture and cultural capital are inverted - a symbol of masculine power, an emblem of orthodoxy and restriction, our preconceptions of the tie become theoretical architecture for a collection that toys with rules, emancipating meaning. Its ideological conceit is challenged, ultimately contradicted and redefined entirely.

2023SSHC SHOW

VALENTINO LE CLUB COUTURE, The impossibility of Haute Couture - an expansion of the imagination, a space beyond reason. Couture is a sphere of fantasy and freedom, of the unique and exceptional, where craft is not a fetishistic reflection of value but a means and methodology to achieve improbabilities, to challenge perceptions, to create bold new realities. Fabric becomes a chiaroscuro across the body, volumes float, cuts are imperceptible, a ribbon of chiffon may suspend a ball gown. The unbelievable becomes material, imagination becomes real.
